Alert Nebraska
Three Article V Constitutional Convention Bills
HEARING Wednesday, Feb. 26, 1:30pm, Room 1507
Government, Military, and Veteran Affairs Committee
MESSAGE: Please vote NO on LR14 removing the Sunset on the Convention of States passed in 2022. Was the Sunset just a gimmick to get COS passed? Vote NO on LR21 Article V Constitutional Convention for Term Limits. We have term limits every election. We don’t need to jeopardize our Constitution for term limits. Vote NO on LB 259 the so-called Faithful Delegate bill. After the convention is convened the Convention will set its own rules and agenda making a Faithful Delegate bill meaningless. Supreme Court Justice Scalia said it is a “horrible idea” to hold a constitutional convention in the age of special interests. “Once you get those people together, you never know what they’re going to do.” Liberal states like California and New York will all be there with radical agendas to eliminate the Electoral College and repeal the Second Amendment. (Or better yet write your own message) See the Article on the Second Amendment below.
